The Plugins Menu

Plugins are extra parts to help your website.
Wordpress.org has loads of available plugins for free download.

They range from image displays, search engine optimisation, making a contact form easy, adding a shopping cart, security scanners, xml google sitemaps, just about anything you would need has probably been created.

Sometimes a paid ‘premium plugin’ is needed. Generally I would try out a ‘free version’ before deciding on a paid version.

Over time I have tried a lot of plugins that are problematic.
With being free at leat you can try them, keep them or delete them.

First find one, download it, unzip it and then upload the complete folder as below and ‘activate’ it.

After uploading to your website to the /wp-content/plugins folder/ the ‘Plugins menu’ is where you locate and ‘activate’ each one.

Your new plugin will most likely add another item to your admin menu for the plugin settings.
